Avatar Policy

Gravitar is usually the default for WordPress, however, there are some privacy concerns and they tend to slow down page load times.

Therefore we are transitioning to locally stored avatars that you can upload to customize your site profile.

Avatars are used in three places.

  1. On your login or member profile.
  2. Displayed on Comments to Blog Posts.
  3. Displayed in the Community forums.

If you wish to upload a custom avatar, you may do that by editing your profile and uploading an image. A custom background image can be uploaded as well, with the same guidelines.

The Blog (main website) comments are viewable to all users, including guests who are not required to log in. Posts in the forums [NSFW] areas are only viewable to registered users and may be further restricted by roles required to access specific areas. Since you can choose any username you can remain anonymous and thus feel free to express yourself. We do however reserve the right to moderate avatar images.

This website and especially the forums are intended for adults aged 18+. No age verification is required, since the site does not contain a majority of sexually related materials. However, that content IS allowed.

We do allow avatars that are rated up to “R” suitable for adults 17+ which would allow for tasteful nudity (if you dare).
